We are a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit animal rescue and rehabilitation facility located in Western MD.  Our focus is on equines, livestock and farm animals.  We are operating on a small scale while we expand our infrastructure. The farm is currently home to 15 grateful animals. They are all living their best life!

All the animals we accept will go through a full rehabilitation program.  They will be evaluated and have a personalized program developed to get them back to a healthy stable state, both mentally and physically.  We will re-home eligible animals to forever loving homes whenever possible.  Those not able to be placed  will remain on the farm and be cared for in an enriching and respectful environment.

Savage River Farms is currently operational Spring 2024. We currently have 15 animals in our care. We are continuing to construct our infrastructure to provide services for more animals in the future. We have constructed a 40 x 60 intake and quarantine facility with eight stalls and a vet/medical treatment area.  The next phase of our construction will be to complete the interior the barn and fence in the paddocks.

We have built great relationships with contractors and service providers to be able to bring our vision into reality.

Savage River Farms will operate on a 500+ acre property in Western Maryland.  Savage Rive Farms is a nonprofit 501(c)3.

Services

Savage River Farms takes in animals that have been abused, neglected, or are otherwise in need. We carefully evaluate each animal and work closely with a team of professionals to provide the medical, nutritional, and therapeutic care each animal requires to ensure a safe and comfortable home for life. Animals that are able to be rehabilitated and live away from the farm are matched with a loving, suitable forever home after thorough vetting and evaluation of the placement. We are committed to the Garrett County community and provide support with any needs related to large animal welfare; if we are not able to take an animal in, we will work to help identify and connect community members to resources to support the wellbeing
of their animals.
